Business focus: Tynrhyd Retreat

You might just be starting to think about booking a big family summer holiday, so we thought we’d let you know about a new group accommodation that opened in January this year – Tynrhyd Retreat. We spoke to the owner, Sian, to tell us all about the new accommodation and why they love the Cambrian Mountains.

So Sian, Tynrhyd Retreat is really quite new, isn’t it?

We started work on the site in 2009 but we didn’t open officially until January 2015. We were interested in developing a complex which would give us an alternative opportunity to being employed and as a trigger to bringing people into the local rural area to benefit others.

Superb high quality, size (we sleep up to 48 people), solid oak beams as structure and exposed, private grounds circling the barn with unique and exquisit wood carvings to explore. There’s also a full size football pitch adjacent to barn in the heart of the Cambrian Mountains. Luxury, traditional yet contemporary style. Practical and spacious, ideal for families and pets. Wood burners and smart TVs, snooker table in communal games room. Ideal for a family holiday get together.

‘Hinterland walks’ are being launched at Tynrhyd with over 30 businesses involved in promoting the area as a Hinterland destination. Developing family activity packages, such as biking, walking, Sarah Buntons Chocolate Experience on site, pampering, harp/ music workshops, residential and corporate courses!
