As the Easter holiday approaches, so do those flurry of bank holidays that we all look forward to! The Easter bank holiday weekend (18th – 21st April) and the 5th May will be the optimum time to enjoy the freshness of Spring with family and friends. To make the most of it, here are our top 5 group activities in the Cambrian Mountains.
5. Pony Riding & Trekking in Llanwrtyd Wells
What better way to get out and the explore the blossoming local wildlife together than on the back of pony! Llanwrtyd Wells Riding & Trekking is a stables offering rides tailored to your groups ability. Your guide can lead you out to the famously beautiful Irfon Valley, trudge you through the Crychan Forest and even swim you through the Wash Pool.
4. Eco Camp at Denmark Farm Conservation Centre
Camping is the ideal trip when looking to bring a group of people together. Whether you’re with family or friends, pitching up your tents in the meadow of Denmark Farm Conservation Centre will ensure a weekend of star gazing, camp fires and most importantly quality time with your loved ones in the great outdoors. Yurts are available for hire for any glampers! There is also plenty to explore on the farm itself, with conservation and natural crafts courses and of course, plenty of walks!
3. Cycle the Elan Valley Trail
Whether you arrange to hire a bike from the Elan Valley visitor centre or would prefer to bring your own, this trail will guarantee a pleasurable and stress-free trip. The route starts from Cwmdeuddwr on the western side of Rhayader, follows the line of the old Birmingham Corporation Railway and finishes at Craig Goch Dam, taking you on a journey with stunning views of surrounding valleys and reservoirs. The trail is largely made from tarmac making it an ideal route for families of all ages!
