This Weekend: walk back in time at Elan Valley
Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water’s Elan Valley rangers are offering visitors the opportunity to improve their local knowledge this weekend with a guided tour of Caban Coch dam and the Elan village.
The easy one mile walk will take in the sights of Caban Coch dam, which was constructed at the turn of the century. It will then move on to the Elan village where the workers lived during the construction of the dams.
This event will take place on Sunday, February 2nd and those interested should meet at the Visitor Centre at 11am and expect to return no later than 12.30pm. For further information, please call 01597 810 880.
Alan Samuel, head ranger at the Elan Valley, said: “This is a great opportunity for people of all ages to get out into the fresh air and learn about some of the history of this fascinating area in the heart of Wales. For tourists and locals alike, I’m sure there will be something new for everyone to learn along the way.”
