Event: Pottery Festival
Head to Newbridge on Wye for the Pottery Festival this December! Enjoy free demos, workshops and taster sessions, and browse the wonderful collection of hand-crafted pottery and ceramics – you might even get your hands on some unique christmas presents…
The festival is open 10am – 4pm on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th December, so you make a day of it, browsing the large array of stalls, selling a huge variety of different hand-crafted ceramics and pottery. There will be plenty of festive food and drink on sale so you can enjoy a warming lunch in the beautiful winter gardens and sneak a mince pie or two as you browse!
After getting a taste for what’s on offer, you can try your hand at the craft yourself! Alex Allpress will give free demonstrations over the weekend and will lead throwing tasters as well as Tile-Making, ‘Make-n-Take’ and Christmas Decoration workshops, suitable for all abilities and all ages! Tickets are from £3, so take the opportunity to get stuck in and come away with some unique christmas decorations for the home, and get the kids involved in making some hand-made gifts for family members this Christmas!
Alex Allpress Ceramics has also announced a series of new pottery courses for 2014, so if you’re always wanted to learn how to use a potter’s wheel, or just fancy picking up a new skill, now’s the time to book as spaces are limited!
